Taylor Ferguson is a respected Australian wine brand with a history dating back to 1892. Part of the broader Alepat Taylor group, a passionate family-owned and run company, it grows grapes, makes and bottles wine and takes it to market, as it has for well over a century. Its ethos is to make elegant, approachable wines that reflect the character of their origin.
The core estate vineyards are in Coonawarra, with a focus on red varieties, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, which suits the region's limestone soils. The cassis-laden, complex reds from these vineyards define the purpose of the Taylor Ferguson range: varietal wines from places where the grapes are in tune with their geography, drinking well above their price without losing the personality of their terroir.
Winemaking is led by Willy Lunn, whose background includes Petaluma, Yering Station and Shaw + Smith as well as many vintages in the United States. He brings expertise in fruit from a range of terroirs, from the delicate King Valley to bold McLaren Vale, with flavour as his priority at every price point.
