Olive Hills Estate

Olive Hills Estate is a heritage family estate in Rutherglen. Its story began in 1886, when Scottish immigrant Hugh Fraser planted the vineyard and built a magnificent homestead. After family tragedy and the influenza outbreak, Fraser left the region, and over the following century the homestead and vineyard fell into neglect.

In 1997 Ross and Kay Perry bought the 500-acre estate and set about restoring the vineyard, winery and homestead, which after more than a decade of work is once again a family home. The vines are grown without irrigation and every bunch is hand-picked.

Today it is a true family affair: Ross makes the wine with his eldest son Harry, who also studied winemaking at Charles Sturt University; Kay runs events, weddings and sales; daughter Matilda brings business skills; and Harry's wife Micaela looks after the wine club.
