Heartland Wines

Heartland Wines began in the late 1990s, when winemaker Ben Glaetzer became excited about the quality of fruit grown in some of South Australia's lesser-known regions, especially Langhorne Creek. Together with industry veterans Scott Collett, Grant Tilbrook and Nick Keukenmeester, he built Heartland into an award-winning winery, with the first vintage in 2001.

A key to its success is that the winemaker is also an owner. Ben, from the Glaetzer winemaking family, has won accolades from around the world. The range is built around generous reds such as the Directors' Cut Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, and more recently a Vermentino from the vineyards.

Heartland runs a city cellar door in Norwood, Adelaide.
