A textural white grape from north-east Italy, formerly called Tocai Friulano.
History
Friulano is the signature white grape of Friuli. It was called Tocai Friulano until the name was dropped to avoid confusion with Hungarian Tokaji. It is genetically the same as Sauvignonasse.
Friulano in Australia
Friulano is rare in Australia, grown by a few producers, including on the Mornington Peninsula.
Tasting notes
