Yelland & Papps is a progressive Barossa Valley producer of elegant, small-batch wines, run by Susan and Michael Papps. Firmly rooted in the Barossa, its philosophy draws on Old World traditions, favouring balance, site expression and restraint over sheer power. Earlier picking, a gentle hand in the winery and sensitive use of oak give wines built on texture, clarity and minerality that feel both modern and deeply connected to place.
The range champions styles of elegance and structure: medium-bodied, savoury Grenache, refined spicy Syrah, its own structured and balanced take on Barossa Shiraz, and beautifully textured whites such as single-vineyard Roussanne, which critics have praised for showing the Barossa is not only a place for monolithic reds. Blends such as Mourvèdre and Grenache come from the Sonntag Estate family vineyards on a gum-covered hilltop in the Stone Well subregion.
The Limited Cuvée wines are rare, small-parcel releases made only in vintages when particular blocks show exceptional character, and its Limited Cuvée Grenache has been hailed as a sublime expression of the variety. Limited Edition wines capture particular moments in the winery's journey that may or may not be repeated.
