Yarra Ridge was established by Melbourne lawyer Louis Bialkower, who bought the property on Glenview Road at Yarra Glen in 1982 and planted five hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon in 1983.
From 1989 to 1995 every vintage of its Chardonnay entered in competitions won a trophy. It was sold to Mildara Blass in 1993, and the vineyard grew to 60 hectares. The original winery and vineyard later became Sticks Winery and then the cellar door and winery of Greenstone Vineyards.
