Unavale Vineyard

Unavale Vineyard is a boutique family vineyard at the southern end of Flinders Island in Bass Strait, at the foot of Mount Strzelecki. Roger and Bev Watson planted it in 1999.

The current owners found it through a chance internet search in winter 2021 and became its custodians. About 6,000 vines of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon grow in three blocks sheltered from the island's gales.

The vines are tended by hand using organic principles, with help from family, friends and the community, and the wine is made in a small on-site winery. The cellar door opens in the warmer months.
