Thomas St Vincent makes wines from Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale, inspired by the French winemakers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Côtes de Provence. Winemaker Gary Thomas has tasted many of the world's greatest wines, including Château Rayas.
Blewitt Springs was one of the earliest parts of the region to be planted, as vines quickly established their roots in its deep sands. Its own mesoclimate is usually cooler and slower to ripen than the surrounding areas, giving it a distinctive terroir.
