Terre à Terre

Terre à Terre is the wine business of Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser, who both grew up in winemaking families: Xavier in Champagne and Lucy in the Adelaide Hills. In 1995 and 1996 Xavier's father, Christian Bizot, planted Chardonnay clones in the Piccadilly Valley on the advice of Lucy's father, Brian Croser of Petaluma, and the vineyard was leased to Petaluma for its Croser sparkling wine.

In 2003, the year they married, Xavier and Lucy bought land at Wrattonbully and planted the Crayères Vineyard with Bordeaux varieties, later adding Shiraz and Cabernet Franc. They created the Terre à Terre and DAOSA labels in 2008, made their first Sauvignon Blanc that year, and in 2009 their first red and the first DAOSA Blanc de Blancs from the Bizot Vineyard. Terre à Terre now focuses on red and white wines from Crayères, including the Crayères Reserve, while DAOSA makes sparkling wines from the Piccadilly Valley.

The wines combine French and Australian practice, and the cellar door at Piccadilly is open daily.
