Taminick Cellars

Taminick Cellars is a family winery in the Glenrowan region of north-east Victoria, where the Booth family has made red, white and fortified wines since Esca Booth bought the property in 1904. In 1914 Esca built the cellar from local Warby Ranges stone, and it still stands on the side of the ranges, overlooking the Taminick Valley and the estate vineyard.

The vineyard was restored from 1919 with Shiraz, Trebbiano and Alicante Bouschet on resistant rootstock, and those vines are still tended today by third-generation winemaker Peter Booth. For decades the wine was sold in bulk; it first appeared under the Taminick Cellars label in 1968. Fourth-generation winemaker James Booth now runs the winemaking, and in 2011 he also launched the Black Dog Brewery.

The family celebrated a century on the property in 2004. The cellar door is about ten minutes' drive from Glenrowan, following the signs to Booths.
