Quartz Hill is a family-run vineyard and winery near Avoca in Victoria's Pyrenees region. Vines were first planted in 1995, and the vineyard grows a mix of French, Spanish and Portuguese varieties, including Shiraz, Viognier, Mencía, Touriga and Grenache.
Quartz Hill is known for its green credentials: the vineyard is run on organic and biodynamic lines, though not certified, second-hand materials are reused wherever possible, and the cellar door and winery are built from straw bales.
Traditional winemaking aims to preserve and enhance the flavours grown in the vineyard.
