Organic Hill makes 100% organic, preservative-free wines from a vineyard in McLaren Vale's 'golden triangle', near producers such as d'Arenberg, Angove and Maxwell. All its vineyards and winemaking facilities are certified organic by Southern Cross.
The founder, a 'Hill' with more than 20 years in the wine industry, named the brand after the pioneering Hill family; an ancestor, John Hill was the bosun who helped raise the first flag on Proclamation Day in December 1836 with Governor Hindmarsh and Colonel Light. The founder's organic journey began in 2009, when a gluten intolerance led to organic shops in Melbourne and to organic wine, at a time when good-quality options were scarce.
The wines are grown without artificial pesticides, fungicides or herbicides, and made with no animal products and no GMOs.
