Liebich Wein

Liebichwein is a small family winery at Rowland Flat in the Barossa Valley, run by husband and wife Ron and Janet Liebich and best known for its specialty fortified wines. It continues three generations of Liebich winemaking: Ron's grandfather Benno Liebich started Rovalley Wines in the same area in 1919.

Rovalley became a well-known Barossa winery in the 1960s and 1970s under Ron's uncle Clarence 'Darkie' Liebich, who was made an inaugural Baron of the Barossa in 1976, and who encouraged Ron to take on the winemaking. After Rovalley was sold in 1985, Ron and Janet bought back their home and vineyard, kept making small batches in barrel, and launched Liebichwein in 1992.

Ron makes small-batch table wines and fortifieds from grapes he grows himself, including a fortified Semillon. Visitors regularly describe the small, authentic cellar door as a Barossa highlight.
