Krystallo Estate is a family vineyard at the northern end of Lake Nillahcootie, in the Upper Broken River Valley of Victoria's Upper Goulburn region. The first vines were planted in 1988 in a three-acre block called Maggie's Paddock, and the rows now stretch for a remarkable nineteen and a half kilometres in total.
In 2009 wine lovers Jim and Maria Kakridas bought the estate, and their daughter Christina took charge of the business, turning it into a family-run operation that involves children, grandchildren and extended family.
Harvest usually comes in early April, with crops of 2.5 to 3.5 tonnes per acre and about 50 tonnes at full production. The family is growing sales in Melbourne and overseas, especially in Japan and the United States.
