Kelman Vineyard

Kelman Vineyard is a boutique vineyard in a quiet corner of the Parish of Pokolbin, below Mount View in the Hunter Valley. Unusually, it is a community-owned estate: about nine hectares of vines spread across 40 hectares of land, with traditional country cottages and homesteads scattered throughout.

Kelman focuses on classic Hunter varieties. Semillon was planted in 1996 and first harvested in 1999, followed by Chardonnay and Shiraz, and the first awards came in 2000. Hundreds of medals later, it is known for making classic Hunter wines with skill and a fine touch, and the range now also includes a Blanc de Blancs sparkling Chardonnay, Tempranillo, rosé, blends and Muscat-based wines. All grapes are hand-picked.

The cellar door opens on Friday afternoons and weekends, and the wine club offers discounts and regular deliveries.
