Seven generations of the Jenke family have worked the Barossa Valley's soil. The family descends from Silesian settlers, and in 1926 Ben and Emma Jenke bought a home and farm at Rowland Flat from the Koch family, part of the first wave of Silesian immigrants. The Jenkes still live there four generations later.
Today Mark Jenke tends the family's old vines and uses their fruit to hand-make small batches of single-vineyard wines. With his wife Rebecca and children Oscar and Matilda, he is proud to preserve the family's grape-growing traditions and Barossa culture so the Jenke blocks continue well into the future.
Jenke Vineyards focuses on sustainable farming and hand-crafted winemaking.
