Foggo Wines is a boutique McLaren Vale producer with a 20-acre vineyard on Foggo Road, in the heart of the region. The main vineyard was planted to Shiraz in 1915 by the Foggo family, prominent local growers, and its gnarled heritage vines are among the oldest in the district.
The old vines are carefully tended and hand-picked each vintage for the rich, bold Shiraz the label is known for, alongside handcrafted fortified wines.
The small cellar door sits on green lawns under towering gum trees, with wine flights and platters of cheese, salami, olives and nuts. Visitors describe it as a hidden gem without the flash of bigger wineries.
