Fikkers Wine is the label of Yarra Valley winemaker Anthony Fikkers. It began as a bit of fun on the side while Anthony was winemaker for Mac Forbes Wines, when a 30-year-old dry-grown vineyard in the upper Yarra Valley caught his eye and the lure of an independent vineyard-to-bottle project proved too strong.
Anthony started in wine in 2000, has degrees in both winemaking and viticulture, and has worked vintages in the Hunter Valley, the Yarra Valley, Baden in Germany, Piedmont and Burgundy.
The range focuses on single-vineyard wines that express their sites.
