Eminence Wines is a small family-owned vineyard and winery at Whitlands in north-east Victoria. The winemaker's parents planted the vineyard in 1998, joining the wave of King Valley farmers investing in vines, and more was planted in 2003.
At 841 metres it is the highest vineyard in Victoria and one of the coldest in Australia. Its 23 acres are about a quarter Chardonnay, with Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Meunier, managed by the winemaker's partner Pete.
Eminence aims for minimal adjustment in the winery and publishes detailed specifications for every wine it makes.
