Dudley Wines

Dudley Wines is a family winery on Kangaroo Island's Dudley Peninsula. The Howard family has been on the island since 1883, when William and Janet Howard settled near Cuttlefish Bay. Fourth-generation islander Jeff Howard and two friends planted vines in 1994 as an experiment, made their first small batch of red in 1997 in part of the old shearing shed at Porky Flat, and founded Dudley Wines that year.

The 20-acre vineyard lies in a valley on the Howards' 4,000-acre beef cattle property, about 30% native bushland, 7 kilometres inland from Cape Hart. Jeff's son Brodie, a fifth-generation islander, became winemaker in 2000, and the family took full ownership in 2010.

The Clifftop Cellar Door at Cuttlefish Bay, 12 kilometres from the Penneshaw ferry terminal, opened in 2011 and serves platters and pizzas.
