Denton

Denton is a Yarra Valley vineyard on Denton View Hill, a steep, granite outcrop rising from the valley floor, on soils some 370 million years old. The Denton family began planting in 1997, building a vineyard meant to outlast them, and the site now grows Nebbiolo, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and more.

In 2024 the Bishop family took over. Scott Bishop came to wine after years in business and operations, moved his family across the world, completed an oenology degree and took on the vineyard he had long dreamed of. He and Mikki, their four children and two dogs live on View Hill.

Winemaker Kirilly Gordon, who started at Bindi in the late 1990s and has worked across the Macedon Ranges and beyond, leads the winery, with Julian Parrott in the vineyard. Denton has a tasting room for visitors.
