Barossa Boy is the label of Trent Burge, a sixth-generation member of a Barossa winemaking family. His great-great-great-grandfather John Burge emigrated to South Australia in 1855 and worked as a winemaker, and every generation since has followed.
Trent grew up a sporty country boy riding motorbikes around the family vineyards, but his passion for wine grew and in 2006 he joined the family business full-time. A particularly fine 2016 vintage prompted him to launch his own label, and in 2017 he and his wife Jessica welcomed the seventh generation.
The wines draw on Barossa floor fruit, including bush-vine Grenache and old-vine Mataro, and cooler family-owned Eden Valley vineyards. The cellar door is in the heart of Tanunda.
