Ballabourneen is the signature Hunter Valley range of Binet Family Wines, focused on the varieties the Hunter is most famous for: Semillon, Verdelho, Chardonnay and Shiraz.
Winemaker Daniel Binet was born on Efate in Vanuatu and came to Australia in the late 1980s. After school he explored his French heritage in Europe, working several vintages, before returning to qualify as a winemaker. With 20 years' experience, he is one of the Hunter's best-known young winemakers, twice nominated for The Wine Society's Young Winemaker of the Year and named a Hunter Valley Rising Star.
Daniel and his wife Natalie have also created Domaine de Binet, a family label for more creative new-world wines, and Daniel offers contract winemaking for growers and brands.
